Dr. Frank Kwakye-Berko is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians, is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has formal training as a Physician-Scientist. Dr. Kwakye-Berko joined the organization in 2017 integrating his private practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology into the Church Street Family Health Center and establishing a Division for Women’s Health within Brightpoint Health. Dr. Kwakye-Berko has extensive experience in private practice management, building over the last decade a premier Obstetrical and Gynecological practice in Brooklyn serving close to 20,000 patients.
Dr. Kwakye-Berko has experience in a wide range of academic and private practice settings and knows firsthand the challenges of integrating community practices into an FQHC model. He also has experience managing clinicians, serving as the Chair of Obstetric and Gynecologic Services for Olean General Hospital in upstate New York.
Dr. Kwakye-Berko received his MD and PhD from New York University. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He has authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate. He maintains admitting privileges at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, and NYP-Brooklynn Methodist Hospital.
